I recently saw an inspirational display on Flickr that got me thinking about what could be done with the Facebook album layout. Norby on Flickr created a collage of sorts that is simply amazing.
With his efforts in mind I decided it wouldn’t be too difficult to do the same thing with Facebook.
So here is my step by step how to guide to putting your face on Facebook. I’m using a Vista laptop for this exercise, so these instuctions are limited to Windows based commands and shortcuts. I’m certain that my Apple using friends and family will have no problem translating this to Applespeak for their own purposes.
This is a concept series that I’m still working on. The wonderful models in the shot were incredibly patient with me as I tried to find the right pose and lighting.
This is definitely a location that I’ll be returning to for more shots.
As a gift to a dear friend of ours I created this image from a simple photo that I shot of her daughter in our backyard.
I know a bank whereon the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses, and with eglantine:
There sleeps Titania some time of the night,
Lull’d in these flowers with dances and delight;
And there the snake throws her enamell’d skin,
Weed wide enough to wrap a fairy in.

“From a little spark may burst a mighty flame.”
- Dante Alighieri
My friend Dani stopped by to visit for a couple hours after driving from Florida to Colorado. She was exhausted and probably wasn’t in the mood for having her photo taken, but she trusted me and allowed me the privilege of shooting a few interesting shots.
Dani is such an inspiration. I first met her in the late 80′s and I’ll never forget the first time I saw her. She was wearing bright blue spandex pants and a black t-shirt with some rock band featured on the front. She looked exactly like what a teenage 80′s rocker chick should look like. Since then she’s done so much in her life that it makes my head spin just thinking about it. She was an exotic dancer, then joined the Army and was stationed in the middle east for a period of time, then went back to school to learn about biological things that I can’t even pronounce. Now she lives quietly in Florida with her loving husband taking care of her father.
