Melissa looked absolutely beautiful in her dress and her smile shined throughout the day. She was a gracious and humble bride who was patient and wonderful to work with.
For this photo I had to do a little editing to the background to make it as beautiful as the bride. I removed some brown spots in the grass by cloning the greener spots and I extended the height of the white wall behind her to get rid of the distracting background behind it. I did nothing to enhance the beauty and grace of the bride and her stunning white gown.
This beautiful wedding was held at the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. Personally I can’t think of a more peaceful and beautiful place to have a wedding.
Amanda was a stunning bride. I’ve known her since 1997 and I’ve never seen her look more beautiful.
Her incredible confidence and beauty was radiated even further by the breathtaking dress that she wore for her special day.
They held a handfasting ceremony to symbolize their commitment to one another.
This beautiful outdoor wedding was conducted with style and grace.
The bride was gorgeous in her flowing white gown and the proud groom had the confidence of a movie star.
I always enjoy shooting a wedding with playful and fun members of the wedding party and this one is definitely at the top of my list. The spirit of the day was one of happiness, joy, and love and this attitude flowed from the oldest member of their families to the youngest baby in attendance.
It was an honor to be chosen to shoot this wedding.
This beautiful outdoor wedding was held at The Margarita at Pine Creek. The setting was beautiful, the food was incredible, and everyone had a wonderful time.
The weather was perfect. It was warm and breezy with the sun perfectly lighting the beautiful bride throughout the ceremony and most of the reception. As the reception was wrapping and we were waiting for the limo to arrive the rain began to pour down.
For some reason ladybugs seemed to be attracted to the bride. She had three of them land on her during one shot.
Sarah’s beautiful dark skin looks great in these shots. It stands out in the black and white photographs and it reflects the light wonderfully in the color shots.
Her independent spirit and joyful optimism toward life shine through in every shot.
We had a great time taking these photos and she was very patient with my pose requests, even when I asked her to climb on top of the house to get a better skyline view.
I’m looking forward to shooting photos of Sarah again in the future and hopefully I’ll have the lucky opportunity to be the photographer at her wedding when that day comes.
They wanted something a little more dramatic and interesting for their family photos so I shot with a bright AC slave flash hanging from the top corner of the white backdrop and a Pentax AF400FTZ mounted on my Canon 30d. In post processing I pushed the exposure level even further and increased the brightness in many of the shots to create the overly lit feeling in the shots.
I prefer to shoot photos that show the personality of the subject, rather than the simple, stiff, posed photo that many family shoots produce. I believe that these photos allow each person to show their personality while still maintaining a posed composition that makes sense for their family.
This is my stylized series of photos around Colorado Springs. I’ll be adding more images to this album as they are finished so keep coming back.
Each of the images in this series should offer a perspective of the city that you’ve never seen.
I try to catch angles and views of common buildings and places that allow us all to dream a little about how it could be and how it should be instead of exactly how it is.
This city somehow retains old west charm and mystique while grasping toward the future and metropolitan shine.
In this series of photographs I’ve tried to pull on both ends of this spectrum to get a real profile of Colorado Springs.
I’ll be adding more photos to this series as I shoot them and I intend to have a gallery showing of these photos once I’m satisfied with my efforts. Stay tuned for the date, time, and location.
Katelyn was a fantastic model for this shoot.
Originally we had planned to take shots with her Jeep, but because of scheduling conflicts we ended up conducting this shoot the day before the photo was due at her school and that meant not having the option to shoot where I’d originally intended.
I’m extremely proud of these photos because they really show her progression from a teenage girl to a young adult and she looks fantastic in every shot.
Jessica and Alicia are both amazing women, but they couldn’t be more different from one another.
Jessica is very conservative in her mannerisms and her dress, while Alicia is a belly dance instructor and performer.
We had great fun creating these contrasting images to show the world just how polar opposite they are from each other.
